Washing machine, yes. I was told it cleaned clothes and it's ruined them instead. How exactly do I fix this?

[He's drowning in badly done and shrunk clothes. Watson was going to do that annoying eye roll when he found out as well.]

How could I use it wrong? I followed the instructions.

Well, for a start, you need to know the material of the clothes you're washing. Different material requires different settings on the washing machine.

Also, you should wash your white clothes separately. Most colors have a tendency to run when in warm water.

And how'd you keep it the right length?

You mean the size? Avoid warm washes, for the most part - those are usually the main causes of laundry shrinkage. Cold water is the best option.
